What TruShield® coating is right for you?

Fogging is the #1 hazard when it comes to safety eyewear. This is largely due in part to the way that safety glasses fit – close to your head. The low profile is necessary to keep out dust, debris, and other hazards from getting into your eye, but oftentimes this close fit can trap moisture inside, causing fogging issues.

A lot of safety eyewear brands have developed solutions for fogging that work well… until you clean them. Where these brands fail is in the longevity of their anti-fog performance. This is because their anti-fog coatings are detergent-based and wash off after a handful of cleanings, making the anti-fog capabilities in the eyewear ineffective and unusable.

All HexArmor’s coatings have these four unique characteristics:

1. They’re permanent coatings that are four times thicker than the competition and will not wash off
2. They have hydrophilic anti-fog properties, meaning moisture is absorbed, not spread around the lens
3. They have scratch-resistant properties
4. They’reflow-coated for specific protection on either side of the lens

Choosing the right coating

Each coating delivers a specific range of protection, so how you choose the coating you need depends on the environment you’re in and the application you will be performing.

TruShield®

Our signature coating, TruShield®, is a multipurpose dual-coating that’s suitable for most applications and environments. TruShield flow-coated lenses have permanent anti-fog on the interior of the lens that will not wash off, and a scratch-resistant hard coat on the exterior of the lens.

The following three coatings are for very specific applications and environments that call for different formulations of protection.

TruShield®2F

TruShield®2F dual-coated lenses are ideal for moderately dirty environments where workers transition from cold to hot or hot to cold. TruShield2F flow-coated lenses have permanent anti-fog on the interior and exterior of the lens that will not wash off over time. This coating also provides long-lasting scratch-resistant properties on both sides of the lens.

TruShield®S

TruShieldS dual-coated lenses are ideal for environments where there’s a high degree of dirt or debris and more severe fogging factors. TruShield®S flow-coated lenses have dual-action permanent anti-fog on the interior of the lens and a scratch-resistant hard coat on the exterior of the lens.

TruShield®2SF

TruShield®2SF is HexArmor’s dual-action anti-fog coating, ideal for applications where there is constant environmental fogging. TruShield®2SF flow-coated lenses have dual-action permanent anti-fog on the interior and exterior of the lens.
